Milford L. Cushen, Attorney

Milford L. Cushen is the attorney and founder of Cushen Law, LLC. He has been practicing law in Fort Payne since 2010 and is committed to providing clients with steady guidance, practical solutions, and trusted legal support.

As the attorney in the office, Milford oversees and approves title examinations, document preparation, closings, and post-closing matters. His practice focuses heavily on real estate transactions, including home purchases, loans, refinances, and related title work. He enjoys this area of law because it allows him to help people through important life and financial decisions in a calm, organized, and supportive way.

Milford also assists clients with estate planning, helping individuals and families make thoughtful decisions about protecting what they have worked for and providing security for the people they love. He believes estate planning is about more than documents — it is about legacy, peace of mind, and planning today to help protect tomorrow.

Milford graduated from Jacksonville State University and Birmingham School of Law. He has been married to Lynn Dobbs Cushen since 1973, and together they have two daughters and four grandsons.

Outside of the office, Milford enjoys staying active. After many years of jogging, he now focuses on walking, biking, resistance workouts, and plenty of stretching. He also enjoys listening to and singing Southern gospel music from the 1950s and 1960s, especially quartet-style gospel. He has been a member of a quartet for most of his adult life.

Sabrina Box, Account Manager

Sabrina Box brings years of experience, dedication, and a steady, solutions-focused approach to Cushen Law. Before joining the firm, Sabrina spent more than 17 years working with David Wear and later worked alongside Milford at Killian and Cushen for two years. She has also handled real estate matters with Nikki Scott and Ryan McMillian, giving her a strong background in the work we do for our clients.

Sabrina officially joined Cushen Law on July 6, 2026, bringing experience, familiarity with the office, and a genuine commitment to serving clients with care, patience, and professionalism.

A 1985 graduate of Fyffe High School, Sabrina also earned a Bachelor of Science and Arts degree from Northeast. She has been married to Munsey Box of Collinsville since 1995, and they have one very spoiled cat named Fiona.

Sabrina’s work motto is “Focus on the solution.” She believes in finding the best way forward and hopes every client who comes through Cushen Law feels helped, supported, and taken care of.

Outside of the office, Sabrina and her husband enjoy traveling and riding his Harley.

Journey Seibert, Administrative Assistant

Journey Seibert serves as the Administrative Assistant at Cushen Law, where she helps support the office, clients, and daily workflow with a friendly and helpful attitude.

Journey was born in Alaska, and because her father served in the military, she moved around often growing up. She later graduated from Fyffe High School in 2024. Journey comes from a large family with three brothers, one sister, and three nieces.

As part of the Cushen Law team, Journey helps make sure clients feel welcomed, supported, and pointed in the right direction from the moment they contact or visit the office. Her work is guided by a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Greatness is the perception that virtue is enough.” To Journey, doing things the right way and treating people well are important parts of how she approaches her work.

Outside of the office, Journey enjoys binge-watching Netflix — especially her favorite series, Teen Wolf — and spending time with her cat, Adaline.
